What is American Patriot K9 Training?
American Patriot K-9 Training (AMPKT) is owned by Matthew Zarrella who is a retired Rhode Island State Police Officer. He helped to develop the state’s first Search and Rescue program.
Matthew conducts schools, seminars and workshops and consults with law enforcement agencies on missing persons cases. Matthew has conducted missing person’s searches for local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, as well as the United States Peace Corps, and the United States Military.
Reason For Web Design
Matthew Zarrella’s old website was a basic website that was created back in 2010 for his business. The users that go to his site are people such as other professionals such as search and rescue members, or even regular people who need dog obedience help. He is also co-owner of Pro-Leash where he has his own line of leashes called, Matthew Zarrella Signature Handler Leash.
Matthew came to me because of the web design work that I did for Pro-Leash. He wanted his site to get a fresh new look for his users. He also wanted the website to have updated pictures, and to feature Pro-Leash products that he uses to visitors on his website.
Please note: Unfortunately, I do not have screenshots of the website before the change due to previous hosting issues.
I felt that this web redesign went very well. I was able to upload all of his new photos and optimize them for site speed. I also included the Pro-Leash products right on the home page. Matt and I both decided to also have a dedicated Pro-Leash page that people could go to and read more about Pro-Leash. On this home page, there is a button that links right to the Pro-Leash product page and each product has a hover feature which allows the user to go right to the product. On mobile, it just shows as a button right over the image.
Although this web redesign was on the more simplistic side, I still find it to be case study worthy. There is always a lot of thought and detail that goes into my head when I am designing, especially websites. This is someone’s business and my goal is to help them succeed by creating them a website that their users will love and ultimately gain them more revenue.
